Pangasinan State University Business Assistance Center Inauguration, PSU Urdaneta City, June 7, 2007.
Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) inaugurated last June 7, 2007 a Business Assistance Center (BAC) at the Pangasinan State University (PSU) Urdaneta Campus, Pangasinan in line with efforts to assist entrepreneurs in the area under the Bank’s Sustainable Partnership for Energizing Entrepreneurship Development (SPEED) program.
The newly-opened BAC will provide Pangasinan-based SMEs with support services such as business counseling, e-services, project development, and financial advisory – all under one roof. It will likewise host the dbp4sme and buyphilippines websites, assist SMEs in marketing their products through on-line registration and business matching scheme, and participate in the presentation of the Countryside Investment Priorities Plan (CIPP) for Pangasinan province that shall indicate key industries and SME projects to be promoted and assisted by the SPEED-BAC project.
The PSU-BAC is the 13th business assistance center under the SPEED program, which aims to provide Filipino entrepreneurs with efficient and convenient access to market information, technology, research and development, and credit and technical assistance. The program is being implemented in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The other BACs are located at the Mariano Marcos State University in BAtac, Ilocos Norte; Benguet State University in La Trinidad, Benguet; Pampanga Agricultural College in Magalan, Pampanga; Palawan State University in Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan; Camarines Sur State Agricultural College in Calabanga, Camarines Sur; Aklan State University in Banga, Aklan; Central Philippines University in Jaro, Iloilo City; Foundation University in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental; Cebu State College of Science and Technology System in Cebu City; MASICAP in Davao City; Roosevelt College System in Cainta, Rizal; and Small & Medium Entrepreneur Association, Inc., in Occidental Mindoro.
